Michelle Rivas is an instructor at DePaul University’s College of Communication in Chicago, and a public relations and advertising professional in the healthcare field.
Through AbelsonTaylor, Rivas manages the advertising needs of national healthcare brands and medical companies. Specializing in brand management and brand strategy, clients of AbelsonTaylor range from pharmaceutical companies and medical devices, to nutrition management.
Prior to AbelsonTaylor, Rivas served as a manager at Golin, working on healthcare and pharmaceutical brands. Her role allowed a specialty in government affairs, patient advocacy and executing national public relations campaigns.
Other professional experience includes public relations work at Edelman. She managed media relations for healthcare companies and advocacy groups, assisted in the development of culturally competent integrated marketing campaigns and secured national coverage for her clients.
Rivas’s education includes a MA from DePaul University in Health Communication
from the College of Communication and a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State.
