College of Communication > About > Centers & Initiatives
The College of Communication houses a variety of communication initiatives, with two centers that help students and faculty develop essential skills and hands-on experiences outside of the classroom.
Directed by award-winning investigative reporting team Carol Marin and Don Moseley, the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence (CJIE) offers training, teaching and professional outreach to help young journalists learn how to navigate the world of investigative reporting.
The Center for Communication Engagement (CCE) provides opportunities for DePaul students and faculty to pursue teaching, research, and service through public speaking opportunities, media labs, community outreach and more.
The OpEd Project coaches a diverse group of faculty to increase their influence as thought leaders at the university and beyond. Outcomes often include published essays and op-eds that address the important social and political conversations of our age.
At the Media Engagement Lab, faculty and student researchers offer market research services to the DePaul community, Chicago businesses and NGOs to determine how consumers interact with media.
The Virtual and Augmented Reality Communication Lab (VARC) houses state-of-the-art equipment for virtual and augmented reality to help people learn how to effectively and ethically communicate in VR and AR.
