Ed Lawler teaches and practices journalism. A former faculty advisor of The DePaulia, he was an editor and reporter for newspapers in Phoenix, Tucson, Indianapolis and in Chicago for the Associated Press and Crain's BtoB magazine.

The author or coauthor of six business books, he is writing his first book about medicine. The focus is the world's first kidney transplant led in 1950 by his great-uncle and DePaul grad Dr. Richard Lawler. “The Graft: The Pioneering Operation That Sparked the Modern Age of Organ Transplants" will be published in 2021 by Anthem Press, London.

Ed has a master's degree in political science from Notre Dame and a bachelor's degree in journalism from Drake.
