Joann Martyn earned her MA in modern drama and performance studies from University College Dublin, in Dublin, Ireland, and her BA in communication/theater education from the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, MN. Joann has worked in higher education for more than 20 years.
In addition to teaching at DePaul since 2012, Joann also is the director of online learning for the College of Communication at DePaul University. She provides strategic, tactical and operational direction for online learning within the college. She also works with faculty to use technology effectively and innovatively in teaching online, hybrid and web-enhanced courses. Prior to DePaul, Joann has worked at Carleton College, Northwestern University and the University of St. Thomas.
