A welcome back letter from the dean, faculty and staff at the College of Communication

As you are aware, DePaul remains a remote campus for the foreseeable future. Please know that you, your education, and your health and safety remain our top priority. Below, please see additional information and resources to help you be successful this quarter.

Tips and Tricks for Remote/Online Learning

Joann Martyn, director of online learning provides advice and resources for success in remote learning. For additional help, please see a list of tools and resources for students provided by DePaul's Teaching Commons.

Advising

Your academic advisor is available to assist you via email, virtual appointment, or phone call. You may schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor in BlueStar through Campus Connect. Please be sure to include in the appointment notes the method by which you would prefer to be contacted. To find your advisor's contact information, please visit the college's Academic Advising web page.

COVID-19 Resources and Information

By now you've received quite a bit of information on DePaul's response to COVID-19. There is a lot of information to wrap your head around, but we're here to keep you informed.

  • go.depaul.edu/covid provides current information on the pandemic and remains the repository for all university messages on the global pandemic. You will find all past messages under “updates" on this site.
  • Watch for advice and updates in D2L. And you can get the student perspective by following 14 East Magazine and The DePaulia on social media.
  • If you or someone you know is experiencing food, housing, or financial insecurity, contact the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@depaul.edu.
  • For help with coping through these unprecedented times, reach out to Health Promotion and Wellness at hpw@depaul.edu. There are also a number of free online resources to help such as livebetterco.org.
