Undergraduate student Amy Do is majoring in communication and technology and is featured in one of a series of recruitment films by DePaul faculty, who recently won a Telly Award.Three DePaul faculty members won a 2020 Gold Telly Award for a series of short recruitment films featuring undergraduate students in the College of Communication.
The project’s executive producer Carolyn Bronstein, Vincent de Paul Professor of Communication, collaborated with adjunct faculty members John Klein in the Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media and Judith McCray in the College of Communication. Their video series features six DePaul Communication students sharing their DePaul journeys, including stories of academic success, co-curricular activities, campus life and engagement with the Chicago community.
The team won top honors in the category of Social Video: Education and Discovery. The DePaul team is in outstanding company: The other gold winners for 2020 are the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the University of Tennessee. “We are delighted with the recognition,” Bronstein says. “What’s more important is the opportunity for prospective students to learn about the DePaul experience from peers. This is especially true in our current moment. Prospective students are turning to virtual campus visits and other sources, like our student stories series, to learn about colleges,” adds Bronstein.
The project was supported by DePaul’s Academic Growth and Innovation Fund. The team is now working on a second video series that will feature the graduate student experience in the College of Communication. Learn more about the
