​​​​​​​​​​As a bridge between the academic and professional world, the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence brings the latest voices in journalism to campus to share insights from the industry. The center also honors two journalists each year for their contributions to the field.

Through these events and lectures, the center aims to provide students and professionals with relevant skills and insights to apply in their reporting.

The annual awards recognize two journalists whose work represents the highest principles of journalism. Judy Woodruff, PBS NewsHour, and DePaul alumna Sally Ramirez will receive awards on April 27, 2023.

FOIA Fellows Program

One of the center's newest initiatives, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Fellows program provides FOIA training for early-career journalists who work at small news organizations in the Midwest.
