As a bridge between the academic and professional world, the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence brings the latest voices in journalism to campus to share insights from the industry. The center also honors two journalists each year for their contributions to the field.
Through these events and lectures, the center aims to provide students and professionals with relevant skills and insights to apply in their reporting.

Annual Center Awards
The annual awards recognize two journalists whose work represents the highest principles of journalism. Bill Whitaker, longtime 60 Minutes correspondent, and DePaul alumna and KARE-TV reporter Heidi Wigdahl will receive awards on April 28, 2022.
