Lectures & Events

​​​​​​As a bridge between the academic and professional world, the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence brings the latest voices in journalism to campus to share insights from the industry. The center also honors two journalists each year for their contributions to the field.

Through these events and lectures, the center aims to provide students and professionals with relevant skills and insights to apply in their reporting.

Annual Center Awards

2024 Center Award Recipients

John Quiñones, Emmy-award winning ABC News veteran, was honored with the Distinguished Journalist Award and Rachel Hinton, a 2017 DePaul alumna, received the Distinguished Alumna Award from DePaul University's Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence (CJIE). Marty Wilke was honored with the Distinguished Mentor award. Founding center co-directors Carol Marin and Don Moseley presented the awards at a luncheon on April 25, 2024. Read More.​


FOIA Fellows Program

FIOA Fellows Program

One of the center's newest initiatives, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Fellows program provides FOIA training for early-career journalists who work at small news organizations in the Midwest.
