Undergraduate Internship Course Enrollment

You cannot enroll into CMN 394 or CMN 395 until you have completed the steps outlined at How to Apply for Internship Credit. Since internships need to be secured and approved by the Director of Internships, enrollment for CMN 394/395 typically does not occur during registration week. But don't worry! You can still apply for credit up until the first week of the quarter you intend to take CMN 394/395. Refer to How to Apply for Internship Credit to review enrollment deadlines by quarter.
When taken concurrently with an internship, both CMN 394 and CMN 395 meet the Experiential Learning requirement.
You can take CMN 395: Internship Practicum along with your internship. This is a four-credit, fully online course that can count towards a general elective credit, a Communication elective, and/or a course within your major. Be sure to speak with your academic advisor to confirm which option is best for you. Begin the application process by visiting How to Apply for Internship Credit
Yes! You can take CMN 395: Internship Practicum if your internship will run through the duration of the next quarter. Please visit How to Apply for Internship Credit and complete Step 2 so that our team can re-verify your internship details with your supervisor and get you enrolled.
