Degree Completion Options
Students choose from the following degree completion options: comprehensive exam, master’s thesis or master’s project. Students must have a 3.75 cumulative GPA to be eligible to complete the master’s thesis or master’s project.
When you are ready to choose your degree completion option, you must complete this form and receive approval from the Graduate Program Director.
Students complete an essay addressing reflective questions. This comprehensive exam essay is take-home and open book. It is completed in a student’s graduating quarter.
One thesis course replaces a communication and media elective class, becoming the 12th and final course taken in the program. The student will produce a written piece of original academic scholarship on a subject of the student’s choosing.
One project course replaces a communication and media elective class, becoming the 12th and final course taken in the program. The student will create an original project and an accompanying written report/analysis.
