DePaulia Named ACP Pacemaker Finalist

The DePaulia
The DePaulia, our weekly student-produced newspaper, has been named a finalist in the Associated Collegiate Press's 2017 Newspaper Pacemaker competition.

“The Pacemaker is the association’s preeminent award and is often called the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism,” said Laura Widmer, executive director. “ACP is honored to recognize the best of the best.”

The DePaulia was one of 43 newspapers (out of a total nationwide submission of 150) to be named a finalist. According the the ACP, the cited newspapers demonstrate, "...excellence in key areas including coverage, writing, editing, design and photography," but additionally, "the winning newspapers took risks and served as a strong voice for its student audience."

The finalists will be honored and winners of the competition will be announced at the annual ACP/CMA National College Media Convention this October in Dallas, Texas.

Of course we'll be crossing our newsprint-stained fingers for our students' great work.
