DePaul's College of Communication Recognized for Excellence in Public Relations and Advertising

The Public Relations and Advertising program is a finalist for PRWeek's 2022 Outstanding Education Program

PRNEWS and PRWeek recently recognized DePaul's College of Communication as an outstanding education choice for students pursuing careers in public relations and marketing communications.

DePaul is one of 40 institutions named on the PRNEWS 2022 Education A-List . The list highlights programs whose curricula, faculty, internships and other opportunities prepare students for careers in an evolving communication field.

The Public Relations and Advertising program at DePaul offers many unique benefits to students, including its downtown Chicago location, which allows PRAD students to visit corporations and agencies as part of their coursework. Many students land internships and jobs at organizations that are blocks away from DePaul’s Loop campus.

Many of the program’s faculty are public relations and advertising practitioners who leverage their experience to connect students with professionals in the field. Extracurricular organizations and study away programs in New York City, Taiwan and France also expose students to new insights and opportunities across different cities and cultures.

In addition to the PRNEWS recognition, PRWeek named the PRAD program a finalist for the 2022 Outstanding Education Program in December 2021.

Considered a top honor in the field, the PRWeek Awards recognize excellence across corporate, agency, nonprofit and education organizations. The PRAD program made the PRWeek shortlist eight times in the past nine years, winning the best program title in 2018.

Other finalists for the PRWeek Outstanding Education Program include Penn State University, Syracuse University, University of Alabama and University of Florida. PRWeek will announce the winner at an in-person gala on March 16, 2022.

“A hallmark of the PRAD program is the unique bridging of academic theory and knowledge with cutting-edge, professional and industrial applications,” says Alexandra Murphy, interim dean of the College of Communication. “I am extremely proud to see their innovative approach receive such well-deserved recognition.”
