Earlier this month, the DePaul chapter of
SPJ/ONA (Society of Professional Journalists/Online News Association) hosted an evening panel discussion about the work of women in sports journalism.
Professional panelists included moderator and DePaul adjunct instructor Melissa Isaacson of ESPN Chicago, veteran sports reporters Cheryl Raye-Stout (WBEZ), Shannon Ryan (Chicago Tribune), Kerry Sayers (670 The Score), and DePaul alumni and former SPJ/ONA executive board members Lauren Camplin (ESPN) and Meghan Bower (Chicago Blackhawks). The panelists shared their experience of working in a male-dominated industry such as professional athletics.
