Director of Academic Advising and Scheduling
Ginny Nightingale joined the College of Communication as an academic advisor in June, 2007. She was named director of advising in September, 2009. Ginny earned a BA in Communication from University of Dayton and an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs from The Ohio State University. While pursuing her graduate degree, Ginny worked as an international student advisor in Ohio State’s Office of International Affairs.
She is an active member of the DePaul Academic Advising Network, which named her “Advisor Who Raises the Bar” in 2010 and “Most Patient Advisor” in 2011. She also received DePaul University’s Staff Quality Service Award in 2011.
Ginny has served as a staff professional for the Chicago Quarter, co-teaching courses on Chicago’s Olympic Bid, Chicago’s Advertising Industry, and Chicago’s Underground Music Scene. Ginny was selected to serve as the staff professional for DePaul’s First Year Study Abroad Program traveling to Jordan in spring 2015.
