Esteemed journalist Carol Marin has been named a 2025 Order of Lincoln recipient in recognition of her outstanding public service and career accomplishments. The Order of Lincoln is the highest distinction granted by the state of Illinois for service and professional accomplishment. Governor JB Pritzker will honor Marin at the 61st Annual Convocation, held at the Krannert Center for the Arts on the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign campus on May 3, 2025. She joins an exclusive class of six Lincoln Laureates this year.
Marin's
career spans multiple roles with NBC5 News Chicago, CBS News Chicago, "60 Minutes," the Chicago Sun-Times and WTTW's "Chicago Tonight." She's won countless awards and accolades for her investigative journalism, including multiple Peabody and Emmy awards. In 2016 Marin co-founded the Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence at DePaul University with long-time producer Don Moseley, to prepare the next generation of journalists for successful and ethical careers. Marin served as the center's co-director through 2024 and is currently a Center Faculty Fellow.
