Join us at DePaul University for a day to celebration the work of Joss Whedon! Through smart discussion with guest speakers, screenings of key works, and fan creativity, experience the amazing Whedonverse in all its glory. This celebration is free of charge and will definitely be Shiny...

Topics for discussion are varied and open, and can focus on any aspect of Whedon's work including, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Dollhouse, Cabin in the Woods, Marvel's Avengers, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Much Ado About Nothing, Alien Resurrection... and anything else!

The event raised $250 through silent auction of donated goods for Equality Now, a charity dedicated to ending violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world.

Screenwriter Cheryl Cain began her working experience with Joss Whedon as an assistant production coordinator for Fox’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and was thrilled to return a few years later as a writer for Fox’s Firefly. She’s also written for Warner Brother’s Roswell and ABC’s Threat Matrix. Cain studied writing at UCLA Extension and currently lives in the Pacific Northwest, where she is working on two feature film projects and a short story adaptation.
