Callie Winter

​Callie Winter is an adjunct faculty member within the College of Communication at DePaul University. She teaches courses in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Health Communication.

Callie received her BA from Augustana College in 2014, where she completed her senior capstone project in the field of Health Communication, specifically focusing on childhood obesity. Following, she attended Illinois State University to pursue her master’s degree where she specialized in Interpersonal Communication and Emotion Research. Her master’s thesis focused on the communication, motivations, and emotions of young adults engaging in casual sex relationships. Her other research interests include, dating relationships, family communication, conflict, health communication, and pedagogy. At Illinois State University, Callie taught Communication as Critical Inquiry and Introduction to Interpersonal Communication. She was selected to be a Peer Mentor for both courses, leading, mentoring, and evaluating new instructors through their first year of teaching.

In her free time, Callie loves to exercise and travel. Over the past several summers, she has traveled to Europe to take several hiking trips including; The Scottish Highlands, The Eiger to Matterhorn range in Switzerland, Tour Du Mont Blanc through Switzerland, Italy, and France, and the Italian Dolomites in Northern Italy. She loves to do CrossFit, yoga, and any other sweaty activities!
