College of Communication Student Media Grab Big Noms at Pinnacle Awards

The new academic year is off and running, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look back to the successes of the last academic year with pride. Our student-produced newspaper, The DePaulia, and our student radio station, Radio DePaul, have both been named nominees in the College Media Association’s 2013-2014 Pinnacle Awards.

The DePaulia has been nominated as one of this year’s top Four-Year Weekly Newspaper of the Year. Competition in the slot includes University of Portland’s The Beacon and Vanderbilt University’s The Vanderbilt Hustler.

DePaulia’s Sports Writer David Webber has also been nominated for Best Sports Columnist.

In the Broadcast Finalists category, Radio DePaul has been honored with a nomination for Best Radio Newscast. They’re up against Buena Vista University’s KBVU and Vanderbilt University’s VandyRadio.

Congratulations to all of our nominees not only for the honor of recognition, but for all the great work that you do in the College of Communication’s student-produced media.

The winners for this year’s Pinnacle Awards will be announced at the College Media Association’s national convention held in Philadelphia, Penn., this October.
