Center for Journalism Integrity and Excellence

Truth. Accuracy. Fairness. Context.

The Center for Journalism Integrity & Excellence (CJIE) offers training, teaching and professional outreach to help young journalists learn how to navigate the world of investigative reporting. The center was founded by Peabody Prize-winning media veterans Carol Marin and Don Moseley, who work directly with students to prepare them for successful, ethical careers in journalism.

For a journalism student who’s just starting their career, the CJIE provides a real insider’s look at the triumphs and challenges of working in the industry. Just a few benefits of being involved with the CJIE include:

  • Gaining valuable skills in the Advanced Reporting course offered through DePaul's Journalism program
  • Doing hands-on, relevant coursework—some of which appear on mainstream media outlets like WTTW Chicago
  • Networking with industry professionals
  • Going behind the scenes with Carol Marin and Don Moseley to gather facts for news stories
