Karin Winters joined the College of Communication as the assistant director of graduate student services in June 2017. Prior to starting in the College of Communication, she served as an academic advisor in the Office for Academic Advising Support where she worked with undeclared and exploratory undergraduate students since 2008. Karin earned her BA in psychology with a minor in gender studies from the University of San Diego in 2006. In 2011, Karin graduated from DePaul’s College of Education with an MEd in counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor and licensed school counselor in the state of Illinois.
Karin has served as a staff professional in DePaul’s Chicago Quarter with classes such as: Immigrant Youth in Chicago, Chicago Women’s Activism and Spoken Word Chicago. Outside of DePaul Karin coached a Chicago public school high school softball team for many years and continues to play softball in the summers.
