Alexander Thimons

Alexander Thimons received his MA and PhD from the Screen Cultures program in Northwestern University's Department of Radio, Television, and Film. He received a BA in Film Studies from Cornell University. At DePaul, he teaches classes on television and radio history and theory.

His research focuses on travel and educational programs of the 1950s, and the ways these programs complicate discourses of television specificity that circulated at the time. Other areas of interest include local television programs, game shows, and the television industry in the post-network era.
