Degree Completion Options
Students complete a three-part comprehensive exam based on questions derived from a minimum of one core course (MCS 501, MCS 502, and/or MCS 504) and two additional courses pulled from the remaining core courses or MCS critical studies electives.
One project course (MCS 599) replaces an MCS elective class, becoming the 12th and final course taken in the program. The student will create an original project (i.e., web- or film-based projects, or projects related to professional or educational organizations) and a 30- to 40-page accompanying written report/analysis.
One thesis course (MCS 599) replaces an MCS elective class, becoming the 12th and final course taken in the program. The student will produce a written piece of original academic scholarship on a subject of the student's choosing.
