About the Lab

Established in 2022, the Streaming Lab provides students and faculty with a dedicated space and state-of-the-art equipment to explore livestreaming with teaching, learning, research, and content creation. The lab is equipped with two stations, featuring monitors, microphones, green screens, and professional lighting, enabling users to stream on platforms like Twitch and YouTube.

In addition to stations for livestreaming, the lab has a line-up of popular gaming consoles from the retro (original Nintendo) to the contemporary (Playstation 5). Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to come explore gaming in an academic context or to just enjoy some downtime with a game. Faculty members can collaborate with the lab to support course assignments; students are encouraged to use the lab to create content, work on projects, and experiment with the medium.

For More Information

The Streaming Lab is located in the Media Commons on the Loop campus, on the first floor of the Daley Building. To reserve lab time and to learn more, contact Assistant Professor Sam Close.
