​​​​Rick Brown is the faculty adviser to Good Day DePaul​the weekly television news program produced by students in the College of Communication. He also teaches courses in television news writing and field reporting. 

Brown worked as a field producer and bureau manager for CBS Network News in Chicago, and as a reporter, newscast producer, and news director at WITI-TV in Milwaukee. As a freelancer, he was the primary field producer for NBC News in New England, and later did producing work for the NBC News Chicago Bureau.

In journalism education, Brown was an assistant professor at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. He also has taught broadcast journalism courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Emerson College in Boston, and the University of Maine.

Brown has a BA from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
