Proud to be born and raised in Romania, where education is a core value, I attained my bachelor’s degree in linguistics and a master’s degree in rhetoric and debate analysis. The following few years I taught literature, grammar and composition in a vocational sports high school to students who were also competing athletes at national, international and Olympic levels.
In 2006, I relocated to the U.S., and I started my new immigrant life from scratch. Faced with the challenges of understanding and adapting to a new culture and society, I chose higher education as the solution to success.
Chicago is my second home, and raising the subject of inequities in healthcare was one of the determining factors for me to pursue a career in Health Communication
. Being a student at DePaul is a life-changing experience. I am grateful to have the opportunity to learn from an amazing faculty
and also to occupy the graduate assistant position to my program director.
With the right mindset, I believe anyone can achieve her or his dreams. I would gladly answer any questions regarding the Health Communication program and personal opinions of “do’s” and “don’ts” in Chicago.
