Multicultural Communication Student Ambassador
I started my academic career at a community college. I transferred to a four-year institution and now am at DePaul pursuing my Master of Arts, concentrating my attention on Multicultural Communication
. Familiarizing myself with a new college campus culture every couple of years became my strength.
I am a socio-linguist who studies culture and socialization, and I am fascinated by the way language and communication influence how we perceive the world. I have explored topics such as maternity leave policies, women and workplace apologies, and sexual assault on college campuses. I am the recipient of the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Scholarship and in 2015 was awarded the NIET All-American Award.
I was fortunate enough to be selected for the Communication and Media program’s graduate assistantship, which involves teaching an undergraduate course. As a proud single mother and academic scholar, I understand what it’s like to juggle various personal and professional responsibilities. I can help you with any questions you may have about the program. Just send me a note!
