Internship Program

Internships offer DePaul University College of Communication students "real world" experience in their chosen field of study. Working directly with a variety of corporate, government, and not-for-profit organizations, the highly successful and nationally recognized College of Communication Internship Program coordinates placements for eligible students in fields such as broadcast, print, and online media, radio, television, and film, public relations, advertising, and marketing agencies, philanthropic and historical non-profit organizations.

You must attend a required internship workshop PRIOR to applying for an internship for credit through the College of Communication. Graduate Intern Evaluation

Graduate internships will be evaluated as follows:

  • Fifty percent (50%) of the final course evaluation will come from the organizational/site supervisor. Each student will be reviewed against a set of performance objectives established at the beginning of the internship and specified on the learning agreement. The site supervisor will complete two evaluation forms and submit them to the director of internships. The first evaluation form will be completed at the midpoint of the internship and the second evaluation form will be completed after the conclusion of the internship.
  • Fifty percent (50%) of the final course evaluation will come from the director of internships. Timely completion of all forms and writing assignments as specified in the CMN 591 course syllabus including the internship final report will be variables in determining the portion of the final course evaluation.
