Graduate Programs

Depaul’s graduation students are a select group of practitioners, scholars, working professionals and aspiring academicians who share an understanding of power of authentic communication in today’s shrinking and diverse world. Because of this, our graduates are sought by corporations, universities, agencies, media (print, online and broadcast), not-for-profit organizations and government offices.

Here are just few reasons why we are of the top three communication programs in Illinois awarding graduate and undergraduate degrees.

EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

Over large, dedicated faculty—32 full-time members widely recognized in their fields -is joined by distinguished guest lecturers: senior executives from leading national and international corporations; award-winning practitioners from agencies; and experienced reporters, editors and broad casts journalists. Our program also encourages interdisciplinary studies, drawing on faculty from women’s studies, Latin American studies, Digital cinema, English, America studies, Sociology and history.

ON-CAMPUS AND CITY-WIDE BENEFITS

Depaul’s state-of-the-art media center includes a “green screen” studio, several high-end editing suites, PC and Mac labs, and two “smart” classrooms—bringing to life the program’s convergence of previously separate channels of communication: Web (including web 2.0), radio, TV and print. In your classes, you’ll make professional connections with fellow graduate students, the majority of whom are working adults. Depaul alumni—125,000 strong; 80,000 working in the Chicago area—create a powerful network in the business community.

In additions, Chicago id dynamic market for communication professionals. Our students find extraordinary opportunities to work—in companies of any size, across every industry; in advertising or public relations agencies, whether large or small, international or local; in not-for-profits or government service; and in media, whether print, broadcast or digital. Students also can apply for one of nearly 900 programs, often with funding.

FLEXIBILITY AND CONVENIENCE

Our graduate programs are designed to accommodate the working professional. Courses are held in the evenings on two campuses (Loop and Lincoln Park), giving you the choice in when and where you attend classes.
